First of all, THANK YOU! We're lucky to have you back for another season with us.
Referees need to complete the volunteer application EVERY YEAR (one year covers both fall and spring seasons). Luckily, it only takes two minutes:
- In the top right corner of this page, choose “Register Now” and login to your account.
- After signing in, select “Volunteer” on the left-hand panel.
- Choose “Find Volunteer Roles.” On the next page you will find one program, click on the “Select” button and then click “View Available Positions” below.
- A complete list of possible volunteer positions from all divisions will populate, click “Sign up” next to ANY of the Referee positions and then “Continue” at the bottom.
- Select yourself and “Continue.”
- Complete the volunteer application, accept the waiver, and then “Continue.”
- E-sign your volunteer application, then “Continue to Review.”>
- Last, review your application and “Submit signed volunteer application.”
- E-mail the Referee Administrator so we can track processing of your application and notify you when it has been completed!
You only need to complete most online training modules once, so until those courses change you’re good to go. You are free to revisit all the online training and refresh your memory at any time on AYSO-U. Note: The State of Michigan requires the CDC Concussion Course to be retaken every 3 years, so if it’s been a while, you might want to look at that course again (Online Courses > Safe Haven Courses > CDC Heads Up Concussion Training).
We will provide updates to Player Development Initiatives (PDIs) and new rule changes at the Referee Meeting prior to each season, so all returning referees are encouraged to attend!
